Applesauce Cake
Here is a nostalgic recipe sent in by Clyde from Pueblo, CA.
It was his grandmother's recipe. He says, "I hope you can see the splatter stains and aging that tells that it's been used and loved - it is undisputed comfort food for us, our kids, our grandkids."
Ingredients
1 cup White or brown Sugar 
1/2 cup Butter
1-3/4 cups + 2T Flour
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Nuts
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Cloves
1 cup Applesauce
Directions
- Cream sugar and butter
- Add egg
- Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture
- Add raisins and nuts
- Heat applesauce and beat into batter
- Pour batter into a greased 9" loaf pan
- Bake in a 350 o oven about 40 minutes
